Considering a second addition to the family? When choosing a new puppy to join your home that already has a four legged family member take the time to let them become accustomed to each other especially if the elder has been with you for a long time and may feel threatened by the new addition. Acclimating new family members to each other can be tedious but if done correctly is best in the long run. Don’t assume that the eldest animal will take kindly to the youngster just because he or she was sad before the new one was around. Spend the time playing with them both equally and together at the same time. This helps keep the peace in your home so future family time will be enjoyable and filled with love and fun.
