The Portuguese Water Dog has been the talk of the town for last few weeks, with its new found fame brought on by the First Family choosing this beautiful beast as a family pet. Many have speculated as to the reason’s this magnificent being is the new “Chosen One”. It is no question in my mind that this breed was chosen simply for the intelligence and personality. The ability to be so fun and trainable at the same time is not present in all breeds unfortunately and when they are it makes that breed that much more desirable. They love to play and are extremely easy to train with the right tactics in place. They even make a connection to their toys that some dogs just do not figure out. With all these wonderful aspects it is no wonder why the First family or any family would be able to say no to such a breed.
