Choosing a Collie

Choosing a Collie,

When you say Collie you think of Lassie, this strong graceful breed is excellent with children, which makes it a great breed for a family dog.

The Collie can get into quite a lot of mischief as a puppy so you should consider obedience classes, it is easier to train a puppy that has no bad habits than it is to train an adult dog that has. A Collie can take his role as a protector of your family quite seriously and bark at anything that he may consider an intruder. That instinct comes from his past roll as a sheep herding breed.

Collies loves to spend time outside so it would probably not be a good pet for apartment living, a home with a large yard would be the ideal surroundings for this breed.
