The Anatolian Shepherd Dog is a dog that is very independent. This is also a very forceful dog, but that is good when you look at what the Anatolian Shepherd Dogs are used for. These are dogs that are used to protect livestock from other animals. Most of the animals that these dogs fight off would be things like bears and wolves. When you look at it like this, it's very easy to see why the Anatolian Shepherd dog is so forceful. The only problem is that it's this same trait (the forceful trait) that makes it very hard to handle as a pet. If you want to make this dog a companion dog, then you are going to have to do a lot of work on it when it's younger. If you do not, then the dog is going to grow up to be a very forceful dog just like nature has programed it to be. If you take the time to train it, this dog can be a good house dog.
