The Shiba Inu is a Japanese dog that is very agile. The dog can
cope very well in a lot of different terrain, but it does
shockingly well in mountainous terrain. This is a dog that was
first bred to be a hunting dog. However, this dog is now used
around the world as a family dog. The name, Shiba Inu stands for
red shrub dogs. Many think that the Shiba Inus got their name,
because they are a dog that is used to hunt in wild shrubs or
just because of the color of their coat. No matter what the
reason, the name is very fitting for the dog. These dogs are
mostly independent, however, and do not spend too much time with
their master. However, this can change depending on how they are
raised. Spending lots of time with them when the Shiba Inu is a
puppy, can really change it's personality when it grows up.
