The Bullmastiff breed is a dog that was bred actually to find
poachers. However, the dog is so calm and loving by nature, they
are now used as family dogs as well. Bullmastiffs are very
courageous dogs and super easy to get along with. The only
problem that you may have with Bullmastiffs is that they have a
very strong urge to protect their masters, thus, a lot of times,
owners will have a problem with them around other people. Most of
the time, a Bullmastiff will not attack someone and bite them.
Normally they use their size to knock people to the ground and
then pin them. These dogs are sweet and do not like to hurt
people. Sometimes these dogs will not even attack, they will
stand in the door way and block people from coming in, while
wagging their tail the whole time. Something to note is that
Bullmastiff dogs love children. They become very protective over
children as well, and over females more than males.
