American Staffordshire Terriers
There are many types and breeds of dogs that make good pets, but the American Staffordshire Terrier has to be one of the best breeds of all time. After seeing some American Staffordshire Terriers you will see that it's a breed that is a relative of an American Pit Bull Terrier. These kinds of dogs actually came to America from the British and Irish settlers. This happened mostly after the end of the Civil War. At the start, American Staffordshire terriers were mostly use as fighting dogs. Over time, however, they started to be used as hunting, as well as farming, dogs. These dogs are very fun to have around, and the American Staffordshire Terrier puppies are very cute as well.
For the most part, the American Staffordshire Terrier breed has a very large bone structure. The head, as well as its weight, are above most dogs. It was not until about 1936 that the American Kennel Club recognized the American Staffordshire Terrier as a breed. After they did, they stuck it in the Terrier and Molosser groups.

Whenever they do something that is wrong, you need to show them that you are displeased, and that is going to mean more to them than if you beat them. As said before, these dogs want to help people.
Overall, the American Staffordshire Terrier breed is a nice safe bet when you are looking for a good family dog. You want a dog that is gong to be able to protect your family while, at the same time, being able to protect your home. Of course, it does you no good if the dog is mean to the people that live with it. That is why these dogs are so great. They would never hurt their masters or the kids and other family members that live in the house. They feel like they are suppose to protect the people that live there, like it is their job.
