Arctic Wolves

As you may have guessed by the name, the Arctic Wolf is not a dog that you can keep as a pet. This is a wild dog that lives in Canada and in some parts of Greenland. They are a member of the Gray Wolf family. Although they are a member of the Gray Wolf family, they are actually smaller than the Gray Wolf. In fact, an Arctic Wolf is usually only about three to six fee long (and that includes the tail). The males, as seen in most dogs, are larger than the females. Now, these Arctic Wolfs may be smaller than the Gray Wolf, but they are way more bulkier. In fact, some of these wolfs can weight up to 175 pounds of raw killing power. Something that is fun to note about the Arctic Wolfs is that their ears are small and remain close to their body to help keep in body heat. These Arctic Wolf dogs usually have a life span of about 18 years or more. However, when they live in the wild, they only live about seven to ten years. The ones in the zoos live almost twice as long. Like most wolves, the Arctic Wolf hunts in packs. They will prey on anything from lemmings to musk oxen. They have even been known to eat moose. The problem for moose is that they have very long legs, and they get stuck in the snow a lot, so it takes a long time to get out. However, by that time the wolves have already made it a meal. These Arctic Wolf dogs can run pretty fast, and they move a lot. So they usually hunt in packs over areas of 1000 square miles.

You can see an Arctic Wolf for sale at many different zoos where they get the royal life style. However, you should never try and go see these dogs out in the open. They do not like humans like other dogs do. They will kill humans if they feel like they are in danger. The best way to avoid making them think that they are in danger is, of course, to stay away.

If you watch a lot of TV, you can sometimes see different dog shows that talk about the Arctic Wolf. They live a very interesting life, and they are very smart for being wolf dogs. Although they are made to live in the snow, the winters can get a little to cold for them in Greenland. That is why they head towards the south tip of Greenland during the winer. Although it is still cold there, it is warmer than what it is in the northern part of Greenland. These are animals that are fun to learn about and great to look at, as long as you are looking at them from far away. Remember, it's best if you can see them and they can not see you. Going to the zoo is the best way to see these kinds of animals, and you should never try and raise one of these.
