The Central Asian Ovtcharka is a dog that has many dog names. It is also known as a Mid Asian Shepherd, Central Asian Shepherd Dog, or Alabai. They also can have different appearances. The area that they are bred in usually determines the way they look.

Central Asian Octcharkas are muscular in build and often get mistaken for a bull mastiff or a Saint Bernard. Their actual appearance is actually a cross between these two breeds.
