Whenever you hear about a Cockapoo, you are hearing about a hybrid dog. Sometimes this is called a designer dog. Either way you look at it, you still are getting a mix between an American Cocker Spaniel and a poodle. Usually the poodle that is used is either a miniature poodle or a toy poodle. You can also breed a Cockapoo and a Cockapoo, and you should get the same effect. Over the years the Cockapoos have become very popular. This has to do a lot with their outgoing personality. They really love humans, and they love to be a part of your life. However, there is more to do with Cockapoos than just their personalities.
One reason why people like Cockapoos is because of their low shedding. Because they have low shedding, they also have very little dander. This is one of the qualities that the Cockapoo gets from the poodle. That is why you see a lot of people that have dog allergies get a Cockapoo. The other trait they tend to share with a Poodle is how intelligent they are. Of course, this is not a dog that you want to get if you are not going to be very active. They are very outgoing, but very loving at the same time. If you want a dog that is both loving and out going (as well as energetic), there is no better dog for you than the Cockapoo.
This is one popular breed that can not be called purebred. That is because it's not really a breed. That is because the Cockapoo puppies that come from the mixing of these two dogs are too unpredictable. They never take the same characteristic each time you breed two dogs together. To be a true breed, the dog has to have the same traits all the time. Over time, when more Cockapoos mate with other Cockapoos, they may become a true breed. Until then, you have a mixed dog that some people love and other people do not accept yet. This is something you see with a lot of new breeds. The good news for all of you Cockapoo fans out there is that this dog is starting to be accepted a lot more and is becoming very popular.
Knowing what traits a Cockapoo is going to get is always a guessing game. Some will look more like a cocker spaniel and others will look more like a poodle. It's only the ones that are somewhere in the middle that are true Cockapoos. However, because they vary so much, no one knows for sure what kind of temperament a Cockapoo is going to have.
On top of all this, they get bad dog health problems from both types of dogs. Thus, you have a dog that gets sick more often. Some of the things that go wrong with almost all Cockapoos is luxating patellas (aka loose knees). They also tend to have a big problem with eye disorders. Either way, this is still a dog that is worth looking into getting.
