Whenever you hear of the mix breed known as the Corkie, what kind of dogs do you think where mixed together to come up with this hybrid breed? Well, if you guess a Cocker Spaniel and a Yorkshire Terrier, then you would be right. This is a dog that many people like, not only because of its small size, but its very playful personality. This dog does not get very big. In fact, most of them still weigh under 5 pounds when they are over 3 years old. These dogs also do not need a lot to take care of them. They are just happy to be with you. Of course, some things like dog grooming and exercise are things that all dogs need. It's also important to keep Corkies on a good dog diet. This way they do not gain a lot of weight. These dogs tend to gain weight fast if you let them overeat. For some reasons, these dogs will eat until all their food is gone, whether they are hungry or not. So it's important that you give them the right amount of food. You are not able to free feed these dogs.
The Corkie puppies make great dogs from the start. You can tell that they are very loving on humans from the very start of their life. These dogs take to people right way, and they stay like that over the course of their life. This is a dog that you will be able to take everywhere with you. In fact, this dog does not want to cause any problems for you, because they know that if they do, you will not take them out again. These dogs are great and get along will with kids. They even get along great with other animals. However, for some reason, cats are mean to these dogs. It could be because the dog is so small and most cats are bigger than them, or something like that. However, if you have a cat, and you bring this dog home, the cat will beat it up. If the cat and dog grow up together, then that is one thing and they will get along great. If you want to get a cat and a Corkie, then get the dog first. That way you can get a baby cat. The dog will not hurt the kitten, and the kitten will learn to grow up and befriend the dog. That is the way the world works with these animals. This is sure to be one dog that your whole family will love. Even if you are not a dog person.
