Curly Coated Retrievers
If you want to see a dog that almost looks just like a sheep, then you need to look at the curly coated retriever. The only thing that makes this dog not look like a sheep, is the fact that there's not quite as much poof to it. However, the shape of the head and the coat looks just like a black sheep. These dogs happen to be the tallest out of all the retrievers and are also the most distinguishable. The Curly Coated Retriever puppies are also very easy to pick out. That is because the Curly Coated Retrievers get their coats early. This is a breed of dog that came out in England. It was a bird dog, that was made for waterfowl hunting. Thus, they needed to have a coat that was easy to clean and that the water did not get soaked up in. Unlike other retrievers, the water just kind of beads off the backs of these dogs. They are super easy to dry, and this makes them the perfect water dog.
Since the Curly Coated Retriever was originally developed as a gun dog, you can see this in their personality. These dogs are well known for being hunting dogs, and they are still used that way today. However, just like normal retrievers, these dogs are very highly valued as pets as well. They are a very fun breeds to play with, and it's for that reason that kids love them! These dogs do need to have a lot of exercise, but most working dogs do. If they get the exercise that they need, they are very laid back and can live in a home environment. This is one of the best dogs that you can add to your family. This is also a dog that would love to go on weekend trips to the lake with you.

This is the main thing that is different between it and other retrievers, besides it's coat. They are still very loyal and affectionate with their family, but you have to train them to be nice to strangers. However, since this is such a smart dog, that is not very hard to do. These animals are very intelligent and can do pretty much anything that you wish. The only problem with these dogs is that they only live about 9 to 13 years. This is not very long. However, their are some that have lived up to 17 years, so it really depends on how you treat them. These are dogs that would love to be part of your family if you let them. They are not going to get in the way if you can give them their outside time. They also make good playmates for kids. If you live by a lake or a pond, don't be shocked to find your dog coming home a little wet. These dogs love to swim, and they do it every chance they get. They love the water. After all, that is what they where bred to love.
