Harriers

There are a lot of different types of hounds out there, and the Harrier is just one of them. This is a hare hunting hound, and it is super fast. The first thing that you are going to notice about the Harrier hound is that it is very tall for being a hound. Most of the time, when you think of a hound, you think of a Beagle. Well, the Harrier stands well above the beagle, and this makes it a lot faster. The longer legs give it the ability to be able to run super fast. However, like a lot of other hunting dogs, the Harriers are not used that much for hunting anymore. Since they are so sweet natured, they are mostly used for companionship nowadays. If you are looking for Harrier puppies for sale or Harrier for sale, then you may have to pay a little bit of extra money. That is because these puppies are purebred dogs, which means that they are going to cost more than other dogs.

The harrier is a very cheerful breed, and that is one thing that is easy to notice about it. They are very sweet tempered, and they are very tolerant, which makes them great with children. Pretty much these dogs love to play, and anyone who is going to play with them; these dogs enjoy it, thus, making kids their best friends! Since they are hound dogs as well, these dogs love other dogs and like to run in a pack. If they live with other dogs, then those dogs become members of their pack. If they are raised with these dogs from when they are puppies, then they tend to get along with them better. If you introduce them later, then you are going to notice that it takes a little bit of training to get them together. These dogs love to go exploring, and you should keep them on a leash. If you have an enclosed area, then that will work very good for these dogs.

Overall, the Harrier are a very healthy breed. You are not going to have much problem out of them. They sometimes do get hip dysplasia dog disease, which is not uncommon in dogs at all. Normally they live about 10 to 12 years, but this depends on their diet. The better their diet the longer they are going to live. These dogs having good dog diet do overeat if you free feed them. So to keep them from getting fat, you should make sure that you give them a measured amount of food. This can help keep their weight down and help keep them even healthier. It is not uncommon for this dog to live will past 12 years, but you are going to have to take good care of it. Some reports have said that this dog lives to be over 17 years of age. So this dog can live a long time. Your family is going to love this dog, and so are you. If you have ever wanted a dog that you can play with, and one that is gong to truly make you feel good, then the Harrier breed is for you.
