Italian Greyhounds

The Italian Greyhound is known to be a sight hound. In fact, it just so happens to be one of the smallest sight hounds in the world. If you have ever heard someone call a dog a “I.G.” or “Iggy”, then you heard them talking about an Italian Greyhound. The cool thing about Italian Greyhounds is the fact that they are very affectionate, even more so than other Greyhound dogs. They are so affectionate that they make great companionship dogs for just about anyone. They have a deep love for their families, as well as people that they see a lot. This is one of the many dogs that actually enjoys the company of people. Of course, that should not come at any kind of shock to you, because most dogs do love to be around people.

Italian Greyhound puppies are very playful, but this is not something that they grow out of right away. In fact, this is a breed of dog that is great with kids because of how much that it likes to play. It is important to keep in mind that this dog does not do well with rough play. That is because of the Italian Greyhounds' slim build and very short coat. It is kind of a fragile dog and has to be treated with care when playing dog games with it. Besides that, you will see that it does not take much to take care of this dog. In fact, you may notice that it is equally happy at home in the country as it is in the city. Like all other greyhounds, the Italian Greyhound does not require a lot of exercise. In fact, despite being so athletic, you may notice that Greyhounds are some of the laziest dogs that you will ever meet. Most of the time, they would prefer to just sit around and sleep all day, and just get up and play every so often.

If you buy Italian Greyhound puppies for sale or the Italian Greyhound for sale, it is important to not let them run around much when they are young. That is because it takes them a few months to actually “grow into” their legs. Before they are done growing, running too much can actually harm their legs and make them walk with a limp the rest of their life. It is very important that you keep them calm when they are first born to keep that from happening. This is one of the biggest problems that these dogs have. When they grow up, however, they are very fast dogs. In fact, you know that Greyhounds are the dogs that are usually used in short dog races. It can be hard to get these dogs to be racing dogs, however. That is because the Italian Greyhound has a very “what's in it for me” attitude when it comes to working. Thus, sometimes dog obedience training and, of course, work can be hard to get them to do. A few of them can even have mischievous ideas that run through their head. It is not uncommon to see them doing stuff they know that they should not do. For example, they can jump very high, and that means that they can leap from the floor up onto the table when no one is looking and take food off of it.
