Norfolk Terriers

Whenever you want to know what the smallest working Terrier is, you have to take a look at the Norfolk Terrier. This is a Terrier that is usually only about 10 inches in height when it is fully grown. Not only that, but they are usually only about 12 pounds. They are almost like a big cat. In fact, some cats are bigger than this dog. The coolest thing about the Norfolk Terriers is the fact that they are a very well proportioned dog. They are not too heavy, because that would make them not as agile. However, they are not too small either, because that would take them out of the working class and put them into the toy breed. They have a very strong drive to them. Many people think that it is because of their size why they fight so hard. It seems like a lot of small dogs, like the Norfolk Terrier, tend to try to make up for their size by having a tough outside.

The Norfolk Terrier is not an aggressive dog, but it is fearless. Even when faced with odds that are greater than it, it will never back down. Once again, this can be linked back to it's small size. They are very capable of defending themselves, and a lot of larger dogs tend to be taken back by how much fight these little dogs put out. Of course, unlike a lot of Terriers, the Norfolk Terriers have, by far, the softest personalities of all the Terriers (flowed by the Border Terriers). Unlike a lot of terriers that are just meant to go, go, go; these Norfolk Terriers are usually as active as their environment. This is a trait that they pick up when they are still a puppy. So if you have a Norfolk Terrier puppy and you do not want it bouncing off the walls, you need to keep it's environment clam and that is how it will grow up.

One thing that is fun to point out about if you have bought a Norfolk Terrier for sale or the Norfolk Terrier puppies for sale is that they think they are very important. You can tell this in the way they carry themselves. Whenever a Norfolk Terrier is walking, it tends to hold it's head high and it's tail erect. Of course, you can always tell what kind of Norfolk Terrier you have when they are young. If you have shy Norfolk Terrier puppies, you will see that they tend to hold their tail between their legs, instead of up high. Although, if a Norfolk Terrier is being bad and you punish it, you will not really be punishing them. The greatest punishment you can have to this dog is to ignore it. This dog craves companionship, and when you ignore it, it becomes very said.

If you have a Norfolk Terrier, expect it to be around a long time. Although most of them only live to be about 12 or 16, they have been known to live as long as 19 and over. It all depends on how well the dog is cared for. Either way, this dog will grow to be your best friend.
