Red and White Setters

The Red and White Setter is a very well known working dog. This is a dog that is really well known for its hunting abilities. However, there are a few things that you may not know about this dog. First of all, like a lot of purebred dogs, the Red and White Setters have a lot of health problems. The main concern that comes along with these health problems is the fact that there is nothing that you can do about it. That is because these health problems are genetic. So what does this mean? Pretty much, in a nut shell, it means that these dogs are going to have these problems from birth. You may not be able to notice these health problems until they get older, but they are there.

Before you buy Red and White Setter puppies fore sale or Red and White Setters for sale you need to know they are born with different types of health problems all the time. This is actually something that we see in all purebreds. In fact, a lot of people state that mutts are possibly the healthiest dogs. With purebred dogs, there is just too much inbreeding. You have too many of the same traits being cycled through over and over again. Thus, any health problems are going to start showing up more and more as years go on. However, when you have a mixed breed, or you mess with the genetic makeup of purebred dogs, you have a chance of saving these dogs. One way to look at it, is the same reason why marring inside the family became a thing of the past. Many years ago, it was very common to marry inside the family. However, people started to notice (the more families married into each other) that there were certain defects that came out. This has to do with the genetic makeup.

To fully understand the genetic make up of the Red and White Setters, and why some purebreds have problems, you have to understand genetics. Let's say that your family has a history of bad lungs. Well, if your mother and dad came from two different families, the the chances of you getting the bad lungs is a lot less. That is because you are brining in different genes from a different family. Now let's say that your mom and dad came from the same family. Then the chances of you getting bad lungs would be doubled. Also, a lot of other features would be played up as well. For example, say your family has big feet. Well, over time this is a trait that would stick out more than others. That is why inbreeding leads to deformed looking people (or dogs) over time.

Usually it does not go as far in dogs as looking deformed. After all, there are tons of different Red and White Setters out there, and they do not all come from the same litter. However, they do all come from the same breed. Thus, the more that these dogs mate, the more those same genes get pushed back into the cycle. Over time, you are going to notice that all these dogs have the same dog health problems.
