One dog that has been around since 500 BC is the Spinone Italiano. When this dog first came about, it was breed as a versatile gun dog. Of course, just because this dog has been around for awhile does not mean that it has lost it's edge. In fact, it is still a master gun dog today. Like most other gun dogs, the Spinone Italianos are very loyal dogs and very friendly. They are not the best watch dogs, because they are very gentle and do not like to be mean towards humans. When the dog is used for hunting, you see it mostly used as a pointing dog. Of course, sometimes it can be used in retrieving game as well. This dog is very intelligent and very easy to train. The companionship that this dog forms with other dogs that it runs with is unmatched by other breeds. If this dog loses one of the dogs that it runs with, then it tends to become very sad, and it can be hard to snap them out of it.

This is not something that they grow out of. They are going to do what you want to do, and they are not going to have much to say about it. If you want to sit on the couch all day it is going to sit right next to you. If you want to be out hunting all day, this dog will be there. It's whatever you want to do when it comes to this dog. As we know, this dog is very affectionate towards people and other dogs. This is one of the few breeds in the world that can get alone with cats and dogs. In fact, the dog is so friendly that a lot of people let their Spinone Italianos run wild. The dog is very patient natured, thus, gets along great with kids. They become very loving towards kids, and you can see that the Spinone Italiano will start to try to raise the kid itself. It's as if the dog knows that the kid is still young.

This dog is so smart and so loyal that you would think that it would make a great guard dog. However, because it gets along so well with every single person it meets, a guard dog is not a wise choice for this dog. On that same note, this is a dog that loves it's masters more than anything. If the dog feels like the masters are in trouble, the dog will attack. However, it takes a lot for this dog to think their master is in trouble. This dog is a very active breed and is going to want to be outside. It loves to run and loves to be outside all that it can. If you want a great family dog that is going to watch after your children as well, then this is the dog for you. They do not get much sweeter than this dog!
