Now that you've got a dog of your own at home, your initial reaction is bound to be that the two of you will never be parted. Happy thought, but please be practical. There are bound to be times when you have to perforce take a journey which is unavoidable. Sometimes this will mean the services of a dog sitter. Remember, he will have to eliminate outside if he is to keep the indoor kennel clean and if he doesn't have much space to move about in outside, he will litter up his indoor kennel. Clarify that the dog boarding allows you to bring in your dog's bed or, at the least, the blankets from his bed. That way he will not feel terribly homesick as the smell of his home blanket will keep him relatively happy.
Finally, make sure that the dog boarding you finally choose has veterinary services available in case your dog falls ill. As we said before, depression can often lead to an onset of physical ailments.
