An online poll suggests that the top three male dog names are Max, Buddy and Bailey. Other popular male dog names are Jake and Duke. Many male dogs are named after sports (Quarterback or Pacer), politics (President or Ford) or members of royalty (Henry the 8th). Some dog owners like to use humour or irony when choosing a name - so tiny dogs become "Jaws" and friendly dogs become "Killers". Perhaps you want to base your dog's name on his appearance. If that's the case, then try a name like Spot or Patches.
Unique Male Dog Names
Male dogs tend to be more aggressive than females, so military-inspired names can be interesting and unique. Colonel, Ace, Captain, and Jet are excellent choices.
