The German Shorthair pointer breed is a great dog for two reasons. First of all, it's a great family dog, because it is good with other animals, as well as people. Also, since it's a hunting dog, it's easy to train, because the German Shorthair Pointer is a type of dog that is a hunting dog. These are dogs that tend to follow commands better than other types of dogs, mostly because of their eagerness to please people. However, they do have one bad habit when it comes to training, and that is the fact that sometimes they do not want to give up the game that you shot down. For example, these dogs have a bad habit of not wanting to give you the bird that it retrieves when you shoot it down. The German Shorthair pointers are great dogs, but they can be a little funny about something, thus, this is not the best dog for first time dog raisers.
