The Laekenois is a breed of dog that is suppose to be a classification of a variety of the Belgian Shepherd Dog. However, this is a breed that is not fully recognized everywhere yet. The Laekenois dogs in the United States are starting to be recognized, but they are far from being called a breed. This is one of those crossbreeds of dogs that had been started main years ago and is now looking like it may become a breed. In fact, these dogs can already be shown in Britain. The dog itself is a lot like the Belgian Shepherd Dog, meaning that the Laekenois dogs are happiest when they have a task that they are suppose to do for you. If these dogs are not raised as working dogs, then they are normally raised as show dogs. There are very few of these dogs that you are going to see that are raised for companionship. These are dogs that you are going to want to train right way.
