The Lakeland Terrier is a breed of dog that you can really fall in love with. They are not aggressive dogs, and they are pretty intelligent to boot. Of course, the biggest problem that people have with the Lakeland Terriers is that they are very independent minded. Pretty much, they are only going to do what they feel like doing. If you give them a command that they do not want to follow, then they are not going to follow it. Besides that, they are pretty easy to train. If the Lakeland Terrier is chasing prey, you are going to have no control over it. They lose all ability to follow commands it seems. In fact, a lot of people that have own Lakeland Terriers call this trait selective deafness, meaning that they only hear what they want to hear. Keeping the interest level of this dog aroused is not very hard, but it is a fun dog to keep around.
