The Newfoundland breed is a type of dog that is used as a working dog. As you may have been able to guess, this is a type of dog that got its start in Newfoundland. The main thing that the Newfoundland breed is known for is its sweet disposition. Not only that, but most Newfoundlands are very loyal to the people that raise them. To top it all off, Newfoundlands are very good at water rescue naturally. This is amazing, because there have been a lot of stories out there about people who have needed help out in the water, and a Newfoundland dog has swam out there to help them. Most of these dogs have never had any training either. It's amazing that a breed of dog can just tell when someone is in trouble and naturally know how to save them! This is the perfect family dog, but it does take a lot of grooming to keep up with it's rather thick coat.
