The Pharaoh Hound breed is a type of hound that should appear to be both graceful and intelligent. On top of that, the dog should also appear to be both trainable and playful. The Pharaoh Hound is sociable with other dogs and with people, which really does make it the perfect family dog. The only think to keep in mind is that some Pharaoh Hounds tend to be a bit aloof when they are around strangers. However, this kind of behavior should not be taken as aggression by any means. The dog can sometimes be very independent minded, but that is just because it is a hound. You will come to learn that a lot of hounds have this kind of personality. Of course, besides being just occasionally stubborn, this breed is pretty trainable for the most part. After you teach it a command, it will usually follow the command without any problems. They are pretty sweet dogs that do love to be around people.
