The Redbone Coonhound is a hunting dog and very much like all other Coonhounds. The biggest difference for the Redbone Coonhound is, of course, its coloring. The Redbone Coonhounds have a red tint to their coat that makes them almost shimmer in the sunlight. Overall, the Redbone Coonhounds are great dogs to keep around your house. They are easy going and pretty laid back when it comes right down to it. However, the things to remember about the Redbone Coonhound is the fact that they do love to hunt. If they get on the scent of something, at times, they will not listen to you. With heavy training, you may be able to overcome this problem, but it's not something that is going to be easy to do. The Redbone Coonhounds are great dogs and make great family pets. They get along with people, and they even get along with other animals, which just adds to their charm.
