Although the Samoyed looks like a dog that could be a wolf dog, they are not. In fact, the Samoyeds have a very friendly disposition. It's for that reason why the Samoyeds make very bad guard dogs and watch dogs. It is very, very rare to ever see an aggressive Samoyed. Sometimes they do make good watch dogs if you can train them to bark at people and not animals. See, the Samoyed gets very happy when people come to see it. Thus, they tend to bark at things as they come into the yard. Although they are not doing this to warn you, they are doing this just to show their happiness. These dogs love children and get very happy when kids come over to play with it. This is a dog that can have its feelings hurt very easily. That is because, if kids or people come over and they do not play with it, this dog becomes sad.
