The South Russian Owtcharka looks like a breed of dog that is very sweet and kind. However, you may be shocked to learn that it really is not that sweet of a dog. The South Russian Owtcharkas are livestock guard dogs. On top of that, they are a very aggressive livestock guard dogs. A lot of people do not think that about these dogs for the simple reason that the South Russian Owtcharka looks like a fairly sweet dog. It has long shaggy hair, and it looks like a fun dog. Now, this does not mean that you can not make a South Russian Owtcharka dog a house dog, but it would not be most peoples' first choice. Not only that, if you do choose to switch these dogs into house dogs, a lot of training is going to have to be done on them and at a very early age. They learn to be guard dogs at a young age, so you will have to train the South Russian Owtcharkas when they are still puppies.
