The Welsh Corgi Pembroke is a very small herding dog. In fact, just to let you know how small it is, it's the smallest of all the herding dogs. Of course, it's the dog's short size which makes it a good herder. They can be used to herd anything from sheep to cattle. Most of the time, the Welsh Corgi Pembroke is used to herd cattle, however. That is why the dog is made so low. You want a low dog when you are herding cattle, because when the dog bites the back of the cow's leg, the cow will sometimes kick. However, the Welsh Corgi Pembrokes are so low to the ground, the kick goes right over them. If you had a taller dog do it, they could get kicked right in the head. A kick like that could kill a dog. The Welsh Corgi Pembrokes are dogs that you have to really train well. They are very active dogs for their size, and they can play all day and then some.
