History of the Cane Corso

The Cane Corso originated in Itlay and receives its name from the Latin word "Cohors" which means "Guardian" or ""Protector". This canine is a re-creation of an old Italian herding breed, the Cane di Macellaio. It too was a breed from Sicily where it was known to participate in dogs fights.
