Miscellaneous
The name Lustiano is derived from the word Lusitanian, which is the Latin word for Portugal. This breed is an Iberian or Spanish horse and is similar to the Andalusian. The breed has only been called the Lusitano since 1966, as the Lusitano and the Andalusian developed from the same genetic background. The differences in the 2 breeds can be seen in the head.
