This huge breed is known for their exceptionally affectionate and gentle natures. The average adult Great Dane will weigh 100 to 120 pounds. Because of their size, and their extensive exercise needs, they are not advised for apartment dwellers. Their short, think coats need occasional brushing to control shedding. Great Dane puppies are well suited for families with children, other dogs and non-canine pets, especially if introduced early.
