The Lhasa Apso breed is a breed that is non-sporting and got its start in Tibet. Usually Lhasa Apso dogs are used to alert people that intruders have entered some place by barking at them. That is why a lot of Lhasa Apso puppies are trained to be watch dogs. However, because of their small size, they do not make great guard dogs. Of course, a Lhasa Apso puppy will think that it's a guard dog, because it is fearless. This means that it may try and attack people who enter into your house. However, this is a dog that you could easily kick out of your way, so once again, the Lhasa Apso is a watch dog breed, not a guard dog. If you start early with Lhasa Apso puppies, you can train them not to attack people who enter. You may want them to alert you when someone is entering your house, but there is no need to have the dog risk its life.
