Picking a Family Dog
Choosing the best family pet can be hard to do depending on your individual pet. As many people has experienced over and again in the past the best pet for the family has to work well with everyone. Making sure the pet does not feel threatened by any member or any visitors is one very vital area to address. Also getting a puppy at a young age verses an older dog can assist with making sure the pet fits in well. Older pets are not a bad idea just a little more work. Especially if there are more people in your family than what that dog grew up with in its original home. Taking the time to get to know the original family may help with acquainting the dog into your family. If you chose to go the route of getting a new puppy just make sure that the breed is on that will be fine with the age of your children and the amount of activity in your home and social life. Many breeds are unable to tolerate different life styles so do your research before choosing certain breeds.
