More About ...
Chihuahuas
An adult Chihuahua will weigh around six pounds. This small breed should be able to satisfy most of its exercise needs indoors, but still enjoys short daily walks. Their coat may be short or long, and sheds an average amount. Occasional brushing will keep loose hairs under control and off of your sofa. Chihuahua puppies are protective and love attention. They usually bond heavily with one family member rather than all. They are not recommended for families with children or other pets, but do well in homes with other Chihuahuas.
Cool Chihuahua Fact: |
The ever popular Chihuahua can be found in a painting dating back to 1840-1842 where a boy is holding a dog closely resembling a Chihuahua. |

Chihuahua Puppies for Sale: Little Dog, Big Attitude
You may be tempted to look for Chihuahua puppies for sale because you are attracted by the tiniest dog in the world – but beware! You may know that he is the smallest dog ever – but he doesn’t. What he lacks in inches, he makes up for with attitude!
Chihuahuas are very territorial dogs, as well as being incredibly loyal. While they may not be able to pin an intruder, they will certainly let you know if they are not happy with whoever’s hanging around. This is great if someone’s trying to get through your kitchen window, but not so good if it’s your partner he won’t let in.
The answer to this dilemma is to treat your Chihuahua as you would do a much larger dog, and make sure that he knows his place in the pecking order. If you are firmly established as Alpha Canine, you will have a much more peaceable dog, but this can be often easier said than done – because they are so little and cute it’s easy to be amused by their antics. It is for this reason that it is not recommended that you have a Chihuahua if you have children in your home.
Another thing to remember when you are looking for Chihuahua puppies for sale is that even though they have tiny legs, running round the house or yard will give them adequate exercise. Going for a walk also provides mental stimulation, which is vital for a Chihuahua’s peace of mind – and will also help prevent any aggressive build-ups.
