In this Chesapeake Bay Retriever video profile, we take a look at a breed with a fascinating back story. In the early 1800s, a ship wrecked off of the coast of the Chesapeake Bay area. On this ship were two Newfoundlands that made their way to land along with the passengers. The Newfoundlands were bred with local retrievers and produced this breed that loves the water and will retrieve anything in it.
