Village of Wellington Passes Puppy Mill Ban
Tuesday, January 28, the village council in Wellington, Florida approved a ban on puppy mills and puppy stores. The decision was a popular one among the crowd gathered at the village hall and was met with a roaring applause. Wellington is just one of a few of the South Florida communities to take the necessary steps to ban puppy mills and stores.
The Tri-County Humane Society located in Boca Raton hopes this positive step will lead to more adoptions to forever families.
The Village of Wellington may be small, but their message is loud and clear. “Today is a new day, we’re going to stop them and make sure that every animal is safe,” a spokesperson from the Tri-County Humane Society stated.
The mayor of Wellington says he isn’t aware of any puppy stores or mills in his community. His intentions are to keep it that way.
